Storytelling, song and dance activities engaging older members of culturally and linguistically diverse communities living in different neighbourhhods of greater Wollongong and Shellharbour brought to the fore the profound significance for these community members of songs and dances from their home countries in the context of their migration experience. It also highlighted the challenge of keeping these music and dance traditions alive and the loss to the whole community when they are not valued and celebrated as vital contributions to a richer, more dynamic and creative culture in a new context. In the culturally dynamic setting of Story Seeds, these activities inspired exciting new song-writing and choreographic ideas and developments.
